List Picker’s 10 favorites movie
As a movie lover, I like watching movies that inspire and entertain at the same time.
The list goes like this:
Countdown from 10 to 1.
10. The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly.
Released in: 1996
Clint Eastwood is at his best, this movie is an all-time classic. The director Sergio Leone is known for his signature spaghetti western flicks. Although it is part of a trilogy, it can be watched independently.
9. Rockstar
Released on: 2011
Only Bollywood movie to make my top 10. Imtiaz Ali did an exceptional job making this movie whereas Ranbir Kapoor was born to play the lead in this movie.
The movie’s amazing soundtrack is a plus.
8. The Departed
Released on: 2006
Martin Scorcese has outdone himself yet again. Jack Nicholson gives a chilling performance even in his older days. Leonardo Di Caprio and Matt Damon managed to give two of their most stellar performance.
Marky Mark is so much fun to watch in this movie.
7. Pulp Fiction
Released in: 1994
Though it didn’t get good reviews when it was released, it became a cult movie among cinema lovers all around the world. Even after two decades, Pulp Fiction manages to remain one of the most loved movies ever made.
6. Desperado
Released in: 1995
Directed by Robert Rodriguez and is one of Tarantino’s favorite movies.
5. One flew over a cuckoo’s nest
One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest is a classic that needs little introduction for most people. This 1975 movie was the second film ever to win five Academy Awards for best actor, actress, director, picture, and screenplay – and had at the time. Jack Nicholson is phenomenal in this movie. It’s like he is the character.
4. The Night of The Hunter
Released in: 1955
This is one of the most horrifying movies I have ever seen. There are no monsters here neither ghosts nor evil spirits and other horror tropes.
This movie shows the dark sides of humanity. It may not have the rewatchable quality like the other movies on this list but this movie will forever stay with me.
3. The Lord Of The Rings Franchise
Released on: 2001 – 2003
Based upon the novels written by the great J.R.R. Tolkien, Peter Jackson adapted one of the greatest movies of all time.
2. The Big Lebowski
Released in: 1998
This movie changed my perspective on how I view life and what our existence means.
Coen Brothers directed and wrote this masterpiece. The role was written for Jeff Bridges and he nails it. Religion was based upon just the idea of this movie. This would be my all-time favorite if not for the next entry.
- The Dark Knight
Released on: 2008
This movie made me think of being a filmmaker. The crown bearer of Chris Nolan’s famed Dark Knight trilogy. Heath Ledger just stole the whole movie.\
His portrayal of the Joker will forever be the peak of method acting. There are many actors in Hollywood with a higher caliber than him, but The Joker is Heath’s Legacy. Hollywood’s one of the finest portrayals.
