Johnny Depp

What makes this performance so special, aside from coming so early in Depp’s film career, is the emotive range Depp scales merely with his eyes and face. Johnny Depp

Fuh-get about it! If Depp’s commanding turn as undercover cop Joe Pistone isn’t among his best performances, what the heck is? The long strange trip of Hunter S. Thomson and his gonzo book, Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas is told with Monty Python alum, Terry Gilliam at the helm and Depp as the counterculture iconoclast, Thompson. To get ready for the role, Depp hung out and befriended Thompson.

With little to no storyline, the film itself bombed in theaters, but Depp’s portrayal of the legendary journalist-author and the completely banana drug binge that Duke and Gonzo go on have since made the film a cult classic and led to a friendship between Thompson and Depp until Hunter’s death.

Johnny Depp took the character of Jack Sparrow, oh! sorry!, I mean Captain Jack Sparrow he made the character his own. He gave life to the character.
