1. Donnie Darko
Donnie Darko, a psychologically troubled teenager is disturbed by an apocalyptic vision which shows him the end of world in twenty-eight days. The vision is conveyed to Donnie through a demonic-looking, human-sized bunny, Frank. The recurring character, Frank, guides Donnie uncover mysterious-metaphysical forces. Multiple unnatural characters also appear to guide Donnie. He soon realizes the supernatural forces that prevented him from an airplane crash that demolished his room.
2. V for Vendetta
Inspired by graphic novel of the same name, V for Vendetta is based around the setting of a futuristic tyrannical UK government. V, a masked character with the attire of Guy Fawkes aims to overthrown the fascist government led by Norsefire party. During his mission to dispose the government of its power, he becomes the mentor of Evey Hammond. She is an employee of state-run Television network who turns against them and discovers her true potential when inspired by V’s vision to change the system.
3. American History X
Derek Vinyard, former leader of a white-supremacist gang is sentenced to 3 years of prison after brutally murdering two black men who tried to break into his truck. Prison gave him time to contemplate on his life and actions. After his release, he wishes to live a normal life, but his dreams are struck hard when he realizes that his younger brother, Danny, is following the same path that Derek went through. Now, Derek is determined to stop Danny from going into the same vicious circle of racism, hatred and violence.
4. Sixth Sense
Child psychologist, Malcom Crowe, is challenged by a task of helping a troubled child, Cole Sear, who sees spirits and ghosts. Cole has symptoms similar to one of Crowe’s ex-patients, Vincent Grey. Crowe was unable to help Vincent, who shot Crowe in the belly and committed suicide afterwards. Now, Crowe wants to redeem himself from the mishap by helping the poor child.
5. The Machinist
Trevor Reznik, an industrial worker who suffers from insomnia is haunted by an ex-employer, who is not seen by anyone else than Trevor himself. Through the yellow-sticky note that he finds on his fridge, he slowly uncovers the truth behind his insanity.

In the early 1970s, two racially segregated schools in Virginia are integrated into a single school. Herman Boone, a black coach is hired by the school to train the school’s racially diverse football team.
During a zombie apocalypse, a timid college student, Columbus sets out on a trip from Texas to Ohio to find out about his family. On the journey, he meets a no-nonsense zombie-hunter, Tallahassee and two sisters, on of which is already bitten by a zombie. The comical group set on a journey to find a place safe from Zombies.
8. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Joel and Clementine, a couple going through a rough patch decide to erase each other’s memories through a medical procedure. Joel discovers that Clementine has already erased memories of their relationship. Hopeless Joel seeks to do the same, but midway through the process he recalls beautiful moments from their relationship and asks the doctor to reverse the process.
9. Boyz in the Hood
A tale of three friends, Tre Styles, Doughboy and Ricky Baker, living in the inner-city of Los Angeles. The three friends carry different personalities and are guided by distinct people. Tre is moulded by his father to stay away from violence, crime and drugs whereas Doughboy is determined to become a violent gang-member. On the other hand, doughboy’s younger brother Ricky is on a path to become an athlete starting from a college-provided scholarship.
